Tamara Nelson is an internationally recognized artist specializing in Commercial and Hospitality projects. Tamara works “Artist Direct” with the design firms and hotels creating original pieces for each individual project. Instead of designers trying to find art to fit their project, Tamara works directly with the designers to create pieces to fit their vision of the room or public areas they are working on. Working from room concepts, fabrics and finishes she creates art to fit the colors and personality of each individual project to make the designers vision come to life. Whether it is for one original piece for a collector, lobby or public area, or guestrooms with thousands of pieces her unique approach adds color and movement to any space.
Tamara has completed 4500 pieces for all of the guestroom art for the remodel of the iconic Stratosphere Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. She is also completed the guestroom art and corridors for Pala Casino in Southern California with an additional 2,000 plus pieces and Tropicana Hotel along with many others.
Known world wide Tamara is featured in issues of Inside American Art Collector Magazine, Artists Magazine, World of Interiors magazine, GQ magazine and Home and Garden. I am Tamara Nelson, and through my work, I seek to foster a deeper connection between people and the natural world. As the owner of my own gallery in Laguna Beach, California, I have the privilege of being surrounded by the very landscapes that inspire my art. My focus is to capture the beauty and fragility of our environment, particularly the ocean and its inhabitants. Nature’s delicate balance and the pressing need for environmental conservation are central themes in my practice.
My work is a celebration of the natural world, from the sweeping coastlines of Laguna Beach to the quiet depth of the ocean. I aim to bring attention to the urgent need for animal conservation and the protection of endangered ecosystems. Each brushstroke, each color and subject I choose, is an expression of the profound connection I feel with the animals, plants, and waters that sustain life on this planet.
Through my art, I hope to ignite a sense of urgency and a call to action. The ocean, its creatures, and the land are all part of a larger conversation about sustainability, climate change, and our collective responsibility. I draw attention to these issues by creating visually compelling and emotionally resonant works that remind us of the beauty we stand to lose if we don’t act now.
